Police said the suspects Neeraj Walia and Hemant Sharma violated TRAI rules by giving these numbers to fraudulent entities. The case emerged after a woman reported losing £10,000 after being duped by scammers offering work from home. They first paid him ₹200 to post hotel reviews and then lured him into a Telegram group where he was instructed to transfer money to various accounts and promised high returns.

Police said numbers with Gurugram area codes were used in the fraud operation, which led investigators to Airtel employees.
