The company was found guilty under part 1 of article 20.25 of the Administrative Code. Under this article, a fine equal to twice the amount of the unpaid fine is imposed.

The court did not specify what fine Google evaded. In 2023, an American company was fined twice in Russia for more than 4 billion rubles: for not paying a billing fine on time in the case of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and for not systematically removing prohibited content, Interfax recalled.

In the fall of 2024, an RBC source reported that the amount of claims against the company by 17 Russian TV channels blocked on YouTube reached 2 eleventillion rubles (this number contains 36 zeros).

The court ordered Google to restore the television channel’s accounts. For each day of non-compliance with the requirement, the company pays a fine of 100 thousand rubles, which doubles every week without restrictions on the total amount.
