The Cup through history: a brief retrospective

Our country hosted the Cup for the first time in 1950. This season, the Brazilian team ran a good campaign and became the favorite of the championship and took the 1st place in their group in the 1st stage. He even beat Sweden seven to one and Spain six to one.
To win in 1950, we only had to draw with Uruguay in the final match in Maracanã. But we lost two to one in a comeback to the Uruguay team that year. The event was so remarkable that it became known as “Maracanaço”.

World Cup 2022: What’s next?
The twenty-second of this year’s Cup will be held in Qatar. It will be the first to be held in the Middle East and the last of the 32 teams competing for the cup to have a format. Because from 2026, there will be 48 teams in the Cup.
