The volume of venture investments in Russian startups during the 11 months of 2022 decreased by 3.5 times compared to the same period last year, to $720 million. The results were obtained during a joint study of RB.RU and the Dsight analytical platform.
The number of transactions during the specified period dropped three times, to 103.
Nearly 70% of all VC funding in 11 months came from investments in the Miro online collaboration platform. The company raised $400 million in January 2022 and received a valuation of $17.5 billion.
Excluding this transaction, the investment volume is estimated at $320 million, of which 27 transactions for $47 million were made in the period from July to November, more than 30 times less than in the second half of 2021.
The data obtained indicate a decrease in the interest of venture investors in Russian start-ups.
According to the forecast of Dsight analysts, in 2023 we should expect between 130 and 150 transactions, and the volume of investments will be approximately 400 million dollars, not including large transactions and IPOs.
