According to NBC, the social network is not available for download in the App Store and Google Play application stores in the United States. Other Chinese ByteDance apps, including CapCut video processing software, also stopped working in the United States.
On January 17, the United States Supreme Court approved a law banning TikTok in the country on national security grounds. According to the law, the Chinese social network has been blocked in the United States since January 19 because ByteDance’s TikTok owners did not sell American assets to local investors.
This week, The Washington Post wrote that Donald Trump, who will take office as US president on January 20, personally promised to keep the situation under control and try to “save” TikTok.
