Sber and the National Payment Card System (NSCP, payment card operator Mir) will create a unified payment service for individuals. Its launch is planned for the second half of 2025, Izvestia reported citing Sber Senior Vice President Dmitry Malykh and the NSPK.

A unified payment service using biometrics will unify the payment infrastructure so that customers can pay through all available terminals, the newspaper writes. Now the Sbera and NSPK systems operate on different infrastructures: NSPK customers cannot pay through Sbera terminals.
Sber has the largest number of terminals in Russia that accept payments using biometrics, Izvestia notes. By 2026, the bank will convert 2 million of its terminals to pay with a smile, thanks to which one in two devices on the market will support this function.
The number of Russians who have registered in Gosuslugi and in the Unified Biometric System (UBS) to access payment by voice or face is approaching 3 million, the press service of the Center for Biometric Technologies (operator of UBS).
They added that the introduction of a face payment service will help implement a series of “seamless user scenarios.” For example, in one transaction it will be possible to pay for the goods and confirm the age of the buyer.
In mid-January, Interfax reported that Sberbank, Alfa Bank and T-Bank had created a joint legal entity, Fintech Platform LLC. The new company will develop payment solutions and services, including QR code payment.
