Steve Jobs introduced the first Mac mini 20 years ago. This happened at the Macworld Expo conference in 2005.
At the time, the Mac mini had a PowerPC G4 processor with a maximum speed of 1.42 GHz, ATI Radeon 9200 graphics, 256 MB of RAM (expandable to 1 GB), and a 40 or 80 GB hard drive.
The main appeal of the Mac mini has always been its company. Even in 2005, the first Mac mini was significantly smaller than other compact PCs.
Plus, it cost $499. It’s always been the best Mac. Currently, a basic Mac mini with M4 costs $599.
After 20 years, the Mac mini has become more compact. Its specs are superior to many classic PCs, but given its size, it doesn’t.
