37% of IT specialists look for a new job within three to six months, and 41% take less than a month. This follows from a study by the technology company ITQuick and the job and personnel search service Zarplata.ru, available on RB.RU.

The majority of IT professionals surveyed (53%) last looked for a job more than a year ago. Next year, 12% of IT specialists plan to change their workplace, another 23% are “leaning” towards this decision. 30% of those surveyed have no intention of leaving their companies.
Respondents identified the main factor that motivates people to change jobs as low income; This reason represented 39% of the responses. The list also included dissatisfaction with management (22%), personal reasons (20%), lack of bonuses (12%) and boring tasks (8%).
Among those who do not plan to change jobs, 56% indicated that they are completely satisfied with their current conditions. Another 37% of IT specialists are worried about not being able to find a vacancy with better conditions, and 5% are held back by personal problems, such as fatigue or burnout.
Additionally, the study results showed that 62% of participants had at least one negative interview experience. The largest number of respondents (39%) were in favor of changing the technical interview format, including reviewing tasks and evaluation criteria. 33% would like to reduce the number of recruitment steps and 26% consider the current recruitment system satisfactory.
The survey was conducted from January 9 to 17 among 1.6 thousand IT specialists in Russian cities with a population of more than one million. Junior (one to one and a half years of work experience), middle (two to four years) and senior (four years) employees participated in the study.
In December, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, stated that the ministry plans to attract up to 700,000 new developers to the IT sector by 2030 to combat the shortage of qualified personnel. Over the past four years, the number of employees of IT companies grew by 50% and exceeded 850 thousand, and the average salary in the industry reached 185 thousand rubles, the minister noted.
