According to the German publication Wirtschaftswoche, Prime Video used Nokia patented technology to transmit multimedia content from the server to the screen, for example, a television.
The plaintiff in the case was a subsidiary of Nokia Alcatel-Lucent. It is reported that if Nokia offers a bank guarantee of 670 million euros, the work of the main video transmission service in Germany will be prohibited.
The Amazon representative said the company plans to meet the conditions of this resolution and consider its subsequent steps.
“However, there is absolutely no risk that customers lose access to a main video,” he added.
To avoid prohibition, Prime Video will have to deactivate Nokia patented technology or agree with the European Telecommunications Company.
Nokia appreciates the decision of the German court and expects “Amazon to comply with his obligations and accept a license on fair conditions.”
