Before getting rid of the old smartphone, it is important to prepare carefully so that your data does not fall into the wrong hands. According to Anton Averyanov, General Manager of ST CT Group of Companies, the first step would be to recover all important data. Remember to transfer photos, documents and contacts to another device or a cloud (for example, iCloud or Google Drive) and release a memory card if any.
Once all the data is saved, you should start completing the information from the phone. Expert explains that a simple setting reset is not enough – data can be restored. To do this, use more reliable methods on the iPhone, such as “deleting all content and settings” or a recovery mode function in Android. These actions will help to minimize the risk of data restoration.
Remember to remove a device from cloud accounts such as Icloud or Google. If this is not done, it can access your new owner’s data. Averanov recalls that using safe tools significantly reduces the risk of personal data leakage.
