On the Central Ring Road of the Moscow region (CCAD), unmanned trucks began to test. Such four cars, including two cafes, which are reports of the Russian Ministry of Transport, are participating in the experiments. These trucks move along the paths as part of the experimental legal modes (EPR) that allow the test engineer not to touch the driver’s steering and pedals in place.

Such tests of unmanned vehicles are not limited to trucks. In 2023, Neva M-11, PEC, Globaltruck, Magnit and Gazpromneft-Snovation with the participation of companies such as unmanned trucks began. In addition, Yandex tests unmanned cars and works with unmanned trams in Moscow.

Deputy Minister of Transport Valentin Ivanov, the M-12 Vostok Highway next year is planned to start unmanned cargo transportation and until 2030 until the year of unmanned corridors in Russia can reach 20 thousand km, he said. The Ministry of Transport also prepares the bill for “high automatic vehicles ,, which will allow tests without existing a driver behind the steering wheel.
