According to Trendforce analysts, the increase in all kinds of memory price in III quarter is expected – DDR4 and GDDR6 prices will grow strongly. In the first case, we are talking about jumping up to 45%in the second -up to 33%.
DDR4 is already scarce: memory manufacturers have greatly started to release the release of the life cycle (EOL) to customers for the end of the life cycle (EOL).
This caused a panic supply wave and local price explosions. In some cases, the DDR4 is already more expensive than the DDR5.
The GDDR6 also becomes expensive, which can affect the budget cost and the main current of video cards such as Radeon RX 9000. More modern standards such as DDR5, LPDDR5X and GDDR7 increase approximately 10%at the price.
However, for the corporate sector, HBM will add up to 20%at a price.
Thus, the cheap memory period seems to end – at least for the next months.
