The team, led by Jean-Batista Moore, used a robotic hand with force and torque sensors to measure the movement of about 35 cm diameter at different points of the ventilation pipe model. Thanks to these measurements, scientists have created a map of dangerous places with strong flows and a map of safer zones with a stable air.
In addition, experts used lasers and artificial intelligence to help you navigate in the darkness of the drones. This allowed Quadrocopter to fly more constant and not fight against the walls.
The next step is to create a prototype drone with cameras, thermal viewers and gas sensors for real inspections and intelligence tasks.
