Studies have shown that the adoption of a cold shower, or even immersion only in cold water after training, reduces muscle pain and fatigue. This is probably because such water reduces the level of Createinkinaz and lactate, which accumulates in the muscles after physical exercises and causes delayed muscle pain (DOMs).

There is evidence that a cold shower provides other benefits for health. This is a decrease in insulin resistance and an increase in sensitivity to it, the decrease in fat deposits, the improvement of the health of the heart and the strengthening of immunity.

On the other hand, when you take a hot shower, you increase blood flow to the muscles. Some studies have shown that this can improve your performance in the future.

If you need to reduce muscle pain, choose a cold shower. Hot water is preferred if you have a competition the next day or participate in a few classes in the gym for a day and you want to achieve maximum efficiency.
