China remains Apple’s largest market outside the United States and a major manufacturing hub for the company’s devices. Despite efforts to diversify the supply chain, including expanding iPhone assembly in India, most products are still manufactured in China with input from Foxconn and Luxshare Precision Industry.
During the visit, Cook also met with the creator of Labubu, visited an Apple store in Shanghai and announced a donation to Tsinghua University of Technology, one of the country’s leading educational institutions.
