Analysts at Citi and Morgan Stanley confirmed the predictions, stating that by the end of the year, the average price of DRAM will increase by 25-26%, which is 10 points higher than previous forecasts.
The main reason for this is the sharp increase in memory demand in the AI industry. Google, Microsoft, Amazon and OpenAI are actively expanding their data centers, which require large amounts of high-performance memory.
Experts expect the HBM (high-speed memory) market to triple to $100 billion by 2030, compared to the current $30-40 billion. Already in 2026, deliveries of 12-layer HBM4 will begin, the price of which will reach $ 500 per chip – 60% higher than HBM3E.
Increasing investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure and the shift from model training to inference services are increasing the pressure on the memory market.
