As Izvestia was told, they are currently doing this at Post Bank and MTS Bank, and customers of Gazprombank and Solidarity Bank already have this opportunity.

For example, Post Bank will add the ability to pay with a smartphone via Huawei Pay (similar to Google and Apple Pay for Huawei and Honor devices) by the end of this year.

As sources in the payment market explained to Izvestia, the implementation of solutions based on Union Pay has been delayed due to the increased volume of business with Russian companies since February – Union Pay does not have time to approve new solutions.

Currently, Union Pay cards in Russia are issued by ten banks: Gazprombank, RSHB, RRDB, Saint Petersburg Bank, Post Bank, MTS Bank, Russian Standard, Zenit, Primsotsbank and Solidarity.
