Taiwan is a fully recognized community on which all the world’s major tech companies depend.

The area of the country is only 36,197 km². In figures, this is less than the area of the Moscow Region (45,900 km²). In such a small area there are many different enterprises, some of which control in their possessions by a wide margin.

We decided how metallurgy works in Taiwan, and why it is perceived by the whole world.

Industry in Taiwan started exporters after World War II

Taiwan is a disappeared island in the Pacific Ocean, which is claimed by two countries at once. the observation island is administered by the Republic of China (Taiwan). At the same time, the People’s Republic of China seizes its rights to the island.

The state made a large supply thanks to this contribution from other countries and the runners to the island of rich and well-educated Chinese after the establishment of the PRC.

Taiwan is the world’s driving force for semiconductor manufacturing

Established in 1980 in Taiwan UMSand seven years later, formed TSMS. Today, these companies infect more than half of all semiconductors in the world: boards, processors, electronic components and microcircuits.

According to analytics firm TrendForce, in 2020, more than 60% of the revenue from all global semiconductor production is found in Taiwanese companies. At the same time, TSMC alone receives 54% of all external revenue.

TSMC’s clients are the most advanced technology companies in the world: Apple, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Huawei, AMD, Intel. Communication with TSMC cooperated with the Russian company Baikal Electronics and MCST.

You can select TSMC by dialing. First, it has the largest semiconductor manufacturing plant. This allows TSMC to set any volumes.

Second, TSMC is consistently ahead of the competition. This is the first company in the world that has launched the production of processors on 5- and 7-nm process technology. Today, besides it, only Samsung can produce 5 nm chips.

TSMC plans to manufacture processors on the 3nm process until the end of 2022. New protests will test Apple and Intel.

Semiconductors are important components for electronics. Thanks to them, smartphones, computers and electric cars work. Simply put, any electronic device cannot work without semiconductors. Even electronic watches should have a fee.

Processor designers and manufacturers have made them smaller and more powerful, and TSMC is indispensable in this race. Apple is exclusively one of the most advanced ARM processors in the world, but only TSMC can produce them, so the two companies have been cooperating for a long time.
