Last Monday (18), Ministry of Education (MEC) announced partner with Microsoft to provide Office 365 Educational A1 in the cloud for all public schools. In total, there is more 38 million students and 138 thousand public schools around the country.
The Technical Cooperation Agreement was closed last Wednesday (13), with the participation of President Jair Bolsonaro, a commitment between MEC and Microsoft to benefit students from the federal, state, territory and municipal education network.
According to official information, MEC plans to release the first version of Office 365 Educational 1 just yet. At the beginning of May 2022. While the partnership is the first of the Undersecretariat of Information and Communication Technologies’ Innovation Ecosystem and Digital Education Solutions, it is aimed to close agreements with other technology giants.

The Ministry of Education is also in touch with Google, Amazon, Oracle, Adobe, among other big companies in the industry, and is fixing deals. The aim of the new partnerships is to work on regaining learning as well as improving the participation process and digital quality in schools.
In an official publication, “A digital engagement process will be made available to interested institutions with the solutions and resources available in a simplified and organized MEC catalogue, with the necessary governance, while attempting to create a simplified model”.
