Publishing service Ridero trained a neural network to create illustrations for book covers. Depending on the task, AI generates up to ten variants of illustrations. You can create a cover in the style of Hayao Miyazaki.

Based on the task set by the designer or illustrator, the neural network builds an associative image using big data. As a result, the AI synthesizes technical stylistic devices, such as lighting detail levels or specific artist styles.
“We must bear in mind that the neural network does not understand everything literally, this requires a designer to correctly approach the task to obtain the desired result”, explained Ridero.
The neural network offers up to ten options for illustrations. The author can choose an artist or animator, from Aivazovsky to Hayao Miyazaki, and a drawing will be created in this style.
“As far as we know, this is the first precedent for the application of generative design technology from the field of artificial intelligence to a mass audience in the Russian book market,” said UX expert Alexey Kulakov, co-founder of Ridero. design and digital marketing.
For eight years of operation, Ridero has published more than 118 thousand books, the number of platform users has exceeded 630 thousand people.
