The aim of the study, conducted by Spanish scientists from the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute in Barcelona, was to describe what features people with similar facial features have at the molecular level.

During the study, the experts examined images of 32 pairs of people who looked alike. All participants also filled out a special questionnaire and passed a DNA test.

In general, the twins turned out to have similar genotypes. At the same time, the differences between them lie in the landscape of DNA methylation and microbiome.

Also, similar people had similar behaviors and habits (smoking), weight, height, education level in general.
