Ozon’s international business division, Ozon Global, has opened a representative office in Istanbul. This was reported to RB.RU by a representative of Ozon.
The market needs a representative office in Turkey to attract Turkish sellers to the site and provide buyers with access to Turkish products.
On Ozon, among Turkish products, users are most interested in clothing brands, sanitary ware, home appliances, coffee, and Turkish sweets. Ozon relies on local clothing brands like LC Waikiki, Mavi, Lescon, Koton, Derimod and Tac.
According to Ozon, in the first half of 2022, the number of sellers from Turkey on the market doubled and the turnover of products from Turkey to Russia tripled year on year.
As of August 15, Hazal Marash, who has worked in retail and trade for more than 10 years, became the director of Ozon in Turkey as of August 15, the company said. Previously, Marash was head of sales at Hepsiburada, one of the largest online shopping platforms in Turkey, according to Forbes.
Up to 10 people will work in the Ozon representative office in Turkey in the first stage, for them the company rented an office in the center of Istanbul.
Ozon Global also launched delivery partners in Turkey for fast transportation to Russia. Delivery times will be almost halved (from six days without assembly).
