The Association of Tour Operators of Russia announced an increase in prices for trips abroad by up to 70% due to the ban of some countries on the flights of Russian airlines and the arrest of aircraft.

Foreign tours have risen in price by 70%

Another problem is that the planes that have remained are operated “very carefully” and mainly on domestic routes, ATOR vice president Artur Muradyan told RIA Novosti.

At the same time, on international routes, for example, Azur Air, Nordwind, iFly, they use only two or three planes, he noted.

“All this led to a reformatting of the business model of tour operators, interaction with regular airlines and the fact that the cost of a flight due to the demand for regular transport and its limitations increased by an average of 60- 100%. And the tours, in turn, have risen in price by 50-70%, since the exchange rate has allowed them to recover”, said Artur Muradyan.

ATOR noted that the situation is recovering somewhat: airlines are resuming flights to countries that did not stop air traffic with Russia. Among them are Cuba (Nordwind from October 1), United Arab Emirates and Maldives (Azur Air).

On Thursday, February 24, the first announcements about the closure of air borders for Russia began. RB.RU has compiled a list of countries that have closed their airspace to Russian aviation.
