Changing eating habits can help teens eat healthier, according to a study out of Broward College in Florida. Especially for this, it is enough to eat less sweets, ice cream and pastries.

According to researcher Maria Balkhara, this will also reduce the risk of hypertension due to the use of a large number of unhealthy foods.

The results of this study will be presented at the 2022 American Heart Association Hypertension Scientific Sessions in San Diego.

Ultra-processed foods include cereals, bread, desserts, processed meats, soft drinks, energy drinks, cookies, chips, chocolates, and more. A total of 315 people aged 13-19 participated in the study. They went to 12 different schools, all in South Florida.
