The person who asked the question later clarified that he could not send some videos to his mother due to SMS compatibility issues between Android and iOS as his mother uses an Android device. In response, Cook simply advised his interlocutor to “buy your mother an iPhone.”
Apple has long been reluctant to adopt RCS, which would bring many features to cross-platform communication between iPhone and Android devices. RCS offers a number of improvements over traditional SMS. This includes things like typing indicators, improved group chats, higher resolution and larger attachments, and more.
