Yakutia introduced a collection of NFT deer and began issuing futures for the supply of deer antlers

The press service of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) spoke about the Digital Reindeer Breeder project.

As part of the project, a collection of NFT deer was created from eight tokens available for purchase. The buyer can give a real animal a name and become its owner. The purchased deer can be observed online using a GPS tracker. It will be possible to buy and give gifts to your deer, the authors of the project noted.

Futures for the supply of deer antlers give the buyer the right to receive them after a certain time in a certain number of kilograms. The money from the sale, in particular, will go to the development of reindeer husbandry in Yakutia.

“Futures will allow increasing the number of deer and marketing the antler market. Such a contract can be used by people who want to help the ecology of the Arctic and contribute to the development of the North”, said the press service of the republic.

The first futures contract for the supply of antlers has already been concluded. In the future, the project may be extended to regions where the traditional places of residence of reindeer herders are preserved.
