A Uber Eats’ autonomous delivery robot is simply filmed as it enters a Los Angeles crime scene yesterday (13) in Los Angeles, California, United States. The crime scene was marked with a yellow ribbon as police were investigating a possible shooting at a local high school.

William Gude, who manages the Film the Police LA Twitter account, recorded the scene where the robot crosses into the lane and heads towards the cops as if nothing had happened. “I saw it coming and I couldn’t believe what I saw,” Gude told the website. Gizmodo.

As the footage shows, the robot struggled to get through the yellow tapes until a cameraman lifted the object for the autonomous delivery boy to pass. After passing the security guards who were looking at the equipment to understand what had happened, the device continued its journey. Check out the video below:

The manager of the page that filmed the police actions also revealed that he often saw Uber equipment while walking around the city and was always amazed by the scenes. “I have these dates, and they’re usually funny. [Os robôs] They have names and things. Scary”.

The Uber Eats machine comes from Serve Robotics, a subsidiary of Uber that was founded in 2021. Tests for food delivery using this technology began a few months ago in California.

Uber did not comment on the matter.
