Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the Defense Ministry’s proposal to carry out a partial military mobilization in Russia.

Putin signed a decree on partial mobilization in Russia

“The partial mobilization decree was signed,” said the president.

Mobilization measures in Russia will start today, Putin said. The draft in the framework of partial mobilization in Russia will affect only the citizens of the reserve, mainly those with experience.

Those called up before being posted to units will receive additional military training.

According to Putin, the decision taken is “fully appropriate to the threats” facing the country. The head of state explained the mobilization by the need to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.

The partial mobilization decree was published on the Kremlin website.

On Tuesday, September 20, the People’s Council of the Lugansk People’s Republic adopted a resolution on holding a referendum in the LPR on the incorporation of the region into Russia. Soon, a similar referendum was passed in the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic and in the Kherson region. The referendums will take place from September 23 to 27, 2022.

Russia recognized the independence of the LPR and DPR in February 2022.
