HE conflict brought two very important news same time this week. The player-focused messaging platform is now a new more affordable subscription planHE Nitro Basic. It comes with a new activity center that provides watch youtube with friends among its main functions.
All Discord users will see a new button with a rocket icon at the bottom of the app. Clicking this icon brings up activities that several people can enjoy together on the same server, such as watching YouTube. You can even create community playlists of videos that can be watched on Discord.
The news comes after more than a year Discord has been testing YouTube co-watching functionality on the platform and banning bots that exist for that exact function.
The event center also has some games that users can play together within Discord. However, to play, at least one of the participants must subscribe to the app’s premium plan, Nitro.

Speaking of the Nitro subscription, the new Basic option, as the name suggests, brings a more basic version of the functionality at a more affordable price. It lets you use custom emojis and upload files up to 50MB for a suggested price of $2.99 per month. Regular Nitro also includes HD streaming, animated avatars and custom profiles, but the price rises to $9.99 a month.
Discord’s Nitro Basic subscription option will launch soon in the UK, but will launch worldwide on October 20.
