This Thursday (3), WhatsApp announces global launch of Communities feature. The innovation, aimed at better organizing chats, allows administrators and users to collect several groups in one area on the messenger.
The platform also announced a new feature pack that will come to the application in the new update. For example, Support video calls up to 32 people and creating groups with up to 1,024 members.

How do Communities on WhatsApp work?
According to the example posted by Meta, the Communities tab will appear at the top of conversations on Android or at the bottom on iOS. In this region, admins can create communities or add existing groups to a community.
With the new feature, users will be able to navigate between groups more easily. Moreover, admins can send important messages to all groups in a community at once.
“Our goal with Communities is to improve the way organizations communicate with a level of privacy and security never seen before,” the statement posted on the official WhatsApp blog said.

According to Meta, new features for groups will be available starting today (3). However Communities will be released in the next few months in different regions.
Only in Brazil in 2023
Brazil is one of the places that will take time to get WhatsApp Communities. In August, Meta confirmed that the innovation will arrive in the country only in 2023.
The decision to delay the launch was made due to a directive from the São Paulo Federal Public Ministry. The aim is to prevent the innovation from being used to spread disinformation during the election period.
