Yesterday, Elon Musk voiced his dissatisfaction with Apple in a series of tweets.

In one of them, Musk talked about the “secret” App Store commission of 30% of all in-app and game purchases. Heads of Epic Games Tim Sweeney, Spotify Daniel Ek and Paddle Christian Owens supported the new head of Twitter.

So, Sweeney said:

They are [Apple] maintain an illegal monopoly on app distribution, use it to manipulate intelligent discourse, and they threaten protesters in China, store sensitive customer data in a government data center.

— Tim Sweeney

Ek simply retweeted Musk’s posts to his page. He did not comment on this.

Owens stated:

I find myself waiting for @elonmusk to catch that Apple’s yelling 30% tax on the App Store contains $2.40 off every $8 Twitter Blue subscription and joins the fight against App Store rules. I’m glad that Elon is taking part in the battle. The best thing that can happen is widespread user awareness.

— Christian Owens

However, Musk does not seem to be a full-fledged ally in this battle yet. He has already deleted a tweet that had a choice between a 30% commission or a war with Apple. [Business Insider]
