Its name comes precisely from the fact that, when seen by instruments located on the Earth, it appears as a pulsating light that periodically points towards the Earth as it rotates.
This movement, in turn, gives rise to stellar winds which can scatter dust around themselves, giving rise to the Guitar Nebula.
Since this discovery in 1993, scientists have studied both the nebula and the pulsar. And just recently, thanks to the latest advances in the field of observational instruments, it was possible to see a combination of both, transformed into the image of a burning guitar.
Where did the alleged fire come from?
The burning guitar is formed by a nebula and a stream of light perpendicular to it, which emanates from the pulsar and appears to emanate from the head of the instrument.
