The Cities And Memory art project created a collection of fading sounds

The deprecated sound library currently contains over 150 sounds. In the collection you can find the sound of a retro German Lehnartz coffee grinder, a Siemens hair dryer, a Nintendo NES game console, a Seagate hard drive and the release of the iconic Pacman game.

The card with each audio file is accompanied by a description and a remix created in association with the emotions that the sounds evoke when listening to them. Sounds can be categorized for easy searching.

The Obsolete Sounds project was launched by the authors of another project – Cities And Memory. Enthusiasts create a sound map of the world, created from sounds recorded in different parts of the planet. The library already has more than 5 thousand sounds.
