The head of Sochi, Alexei Kopaygorodsky, said that 7.2 million tourists visited the city last year, and this is a record number in the last 100 years.
Most of the guests, according to Izvestia, came to Sochi in 2022 from:
- Moscow and the Moscow region (26%),
- Krasnodar Territory (13%),
- Rostov region (6-7%),
- Saint Petersburg (6-7%),
- Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Samara regions and Stavropol Territory (2-3%).
In general, the flow of tourists to Sochi has grown steadily over the past ten years.
The head of the city expressed confidence that in 2023 the indicators will not be lower and the level of service will only grow, including by expanding the range of services and logistical innovations.
This is apparently a new double-decker train that will leave Ufa in 2023.
In the coming year, it is also planned to complete the development of a master plan for a new passenger terminal at Sochi airport with an ultra-modern air terminal complex.
“We are the first in terms of the tourist flow in the Krasnodar Territory and, of course, this is a huge responsibility, first of all, for those who choose to rest in our city,” Kopaygorodsky quotes on the official website of the administration of the city. .
