The first episode of the long-awaited HBO series The Last of Us has been released.
There have been a lot of rumors around him lately, and not all users appreciated the discovered cast. The main complaint was that it did not fit into the images of the original game.
However, such a problem in the last couple of years has taken place in completely different projects. Plus, the authors of the plot, Neil Druckmann, who created the game, partially rewrote the story.
We have already reviewed the novelty and are in a hurry to share our impressions. What are the prospects? We understand.
The fanservice is just amazing
From the first minute I met that Druckmann had a hand in the film adaptation, and this is very good. He was able to set the detective in the right direction.
What is the series about: 2003 The world of a pandemic associated with the spread of cordyceps cerebral infection. This is a fungus that ignites the entire body and takes control of it. People cease to be themselves and gradually turn into monsters.

I’ll tell you right now – filmed from the actual game, and not as often (but not always) it happens with the creators of projects, where they observe impressions and give them their own stories. Here they try to focus on the story, which affects the excitement of the gaming universe.
The authors make a big delivery on fan service, not only throwing various Easter eggs and references to the original in the frame, but also copying many scenes. Due to the fact that this is a long movie, the prologue of the story turned out to be competently expanded and varied.
The writers found a little more information about the central manifestations already in the first series, in search of additional micro stories and logical storylines. I was pleased with the fact that the scriptwriters decided to really dilute and expand the ENT games. If in the original TLOU we are almost immediately thrown into the thick of the events of life, then in the film adaptation they tell more about up to this point.
Some episodes of them are played out in small details, but this does not affect the overall pollution. Fans have no complaints about them at all.
Druckmann has previously stated that there will be less violence in the series than in the game. This fact is evident from the very first episode.
Bet in adaptation, first of all, on people and their consequences, and the pandemic is relegated to the background, but not so much that it is just some kind of background. The infection does exist and motivates them to commit crimes.
A lot of good ideas are used here, and the actors are absorbing smartly. Outwardly, they bear little resemblance to their prototypes, but their emotions, encounters and characters are transmitted almost perfectly. There’s the obvious confrontations between Joel and Ellie, the tense relationship with natural lines, and more.
Although in some places I personally did not like the game of Pedro Pascal. If in the game the hero had an alleged disregard for the girl, then here not capturing the same facial expressionswhich is a farm. But that’s more of a personal complaint of mine.
And it’s not so important, it’s still well felt through the dialogues. And they are here at a high level.
Visually unpleasant, faced with apocalyptic atmosphere

Now I’m not talking only about the graphics, but also about the staging. Already from the first 20 minutes it turns out that something is going wrong in the world, it is gradually collapsing and falling apart right in front of the audience.
This happened both through small details and from various scenario moves. Locations are gradually changing and becoming more diverse. The city in a matter of minutes turns from a calm, quiet place into a zone of total disaster. And the events 20 years later already completely immerse us in the creation of a post-apocalypse.
Everything is different here: from buildings and streets to people. The directors were able perfect to beat blooming events.
Of course, we did not forget about the main soundtrack of the game. He meets us already in the very first credits, and as soon as you hear, he excites the blood. Fans will definitely appreciate it.
Continue in the same spirit
The series “The Last of Us” started on the right note. He was able to bring up to date and even learn a little more about the world where the main characters are.
Despite not the best selection of actors outwardly, they do an excellent job with their roles and allow you to live their lives with them. The acting, the receiving, the receiving of the aesthetic… it’s all top notch.
