Chevrolet introduced the Corvette E-Ray. It is the fastest Corvette in the history of the company and one of the fastest production cars in the world.
On the rear axle of the Corvette E-Ray is a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 495 hp. The front axle is driven by a 160 hp electric motor. Thus, it is also the first all-wheel drive Corvette.
In total, the car produces 655 hp. From 0 to 100 km / h, it accelerates in 2.5 seconds, and consumes a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds.
The electric motor is not included in the charger. The battery is charged automatically when the vehicle is moving and during braking thanks to energy recovery.
If necessary, the Corvette E-Ray can be driven as usual in an electric car. But the company does not specify how long a car can travel by taxi. When the battery runs out, the V8 automatically switches to work. The speed of movement on the electric motor is limited to 70 km / h.
The interior of the Corvette E-Ray is very driver-focused. The front console is turned towards the driver, and a large tunnel is installed in the middle, which divides the car into two parts.
