The Association of Banks of Russia (ADB) asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to allocate terminals for receiving cards from the French manufacturer Ingenico, which left Russia in mid-2022, for import substitution. In March last year, the company stopped developing technical support for devices.
Ingenico accounts for 50% of all POS terminals in Russia. Now there are about 2 million of them.
According to ADB preliminary estimates, import substitution of terminals requires at least 40 billion rubles.
