The possibility for users of the Cookpad platform to save their personal data is announced on the company’s mailing list. One of the users shared a screenshot of the letter with RB.RU.

Cookpad said in a statement that user data will be transferred to the Russian legal entity Ovkuse.ru, under the control of former Cookpad Russia CEO Alexander Kislenko, for its safety.

“This will allow the Russian Cookpad community to come together at a later date under the name Ovkuse.ru to continue sharing the joy of cooking and eating together,” the letter reads.

In January, Cookpad announced that it would stop working in Russia from January 31, remove all Russian-language recipes from the database, and users would not be able to log in to the site or app.

In July 2018, the Japanese culinary platform Cookpad bought the Russian portal Ovkuse.ru, founded by Alexander Kislenko. Cookpad was launched in Russia in January 2018.
