The new RAM chips are 13% faster than the LPDDR5X chips that have recently started appearing in premium devices. LPDDR5T runs at 9.6 Gbps. At this speed, the new RAM can process 77 GB of data in one second.
It’s worth noting that the 5T is not a next-gen DRAM, but an improvement over the 5X. The company has already sent samples to its partners – 16 GB packages (they combine several LPDDR5T chips into one package). SK hynix plans to start mass production of the 5T RAM in the second half of this year.
