In 2022, about 100 thousand IT specialists left Russia. 80% of them continue to work for national companies, but this does not solve the problem of staff shortages. In this context, IT specialists are invited to search among the players.
The issue of the shortage of such professionals was discussed on January 26 at a round table chaired by a member of the Committee of the Federation Council (SF) on the budget and financial markets, Vedomosti writes.
At the same time, the founder of the Vengeance Games studio, Konstantin Sakhnov, said that there is no successful practice of using gamers as developers.
“It is important for IT specialists to have a high-quality and long-term education, study of programming languages, software packages, production processes, etc. Whereas games involve more cognitive skills and so-called soft skills: teamwork, the ability to negotiate, sometimes even analytical thinking,” she explained.
Another option to solve the problem of IT personnel shortage is to actively involve the sphere of secondary vocational education in the training of specialists.
MIPT Rector Dmitry Livanov believes that now the level of secondary vocational education is more than enough to train IT personnel.
