EPA data indicate that gas stove emissions, including formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides, can reach unsafe levels. One scientist described a study showing that methane leaks from natural gas stoves have an impact on the climate comparable to carbon dioxide emissions from 500,000 gasoline-powered cars.
The scientist also noted that gas stoves can pose a health risk because they are located in the kitchen, where we can breathe a lot of emissions. In this respect, water heaters are safer. The specialist advises everyone who has the opportunity to switch from a gas stove to an induction stove.
