The artificial fairy developed by scientists has several properties. Due to its light weight – 1.2 mg – it can easily float in the air under the direction of the wind. What’s more, the stable production of individual swirl rings enables it to travel long distances.
In addition, the robot can be powered and controlled by a light source such as a laser beam or LED. In the future, the researchers will focus on improving the light sensitivity of the material so that the device can operate in sunlight.
