A Yandex center will open in Istanbul on March 1, a source familiar with the situation told the TASS news agency. According to him, a coworking and a company office will be opened in Turkey.
“Yes, we are expanding the number of hubs. A new center is being opened in Turkey,” the source said.
He also specified that the device in the new office will take up to three months. The center is open for the company’s teams that need to stay permanently in Turkey, the Yandex press service reported. They will be dedicated to the development of services in the local market.
The company also said that they are successfully doing business in Turkey, in particular, mapping and logistics services are already available for local users.
Yandex managed to avoid large-scale sanctions that were imposed on some Russian companies after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine. However, Yandex founders Arkady Volozh and company CEO Tigran Khudaverdyan were placed on the EU sanctions list. They had to leave leadership positions.
At the end of December, Arkady Volozh made a farewell speech to the company’s staff.
