Scientists have noted that protruding nipples cause (desired or unwanted) sexual interest in a woman. They decided to examine in more detail how people perceive nipple erections and whether this causes them to treat a person differently.
In the study, 234 participants viewed 12 photos in random order. The pictures showed six women with prominent nipples and six women whose nipples were not prominent. After viewing each photo, participants were asked to answer questions such as “How likely is this woman to cheat on her partner?”, “How smart is she?”
It turned out that women with protruding nipples were perceived as less intelligent, less moral, and more prone to explicit sexual behavior. There were perceptual distortions in both men and other women.
