At first these will be ARM-based kernels. They will appear on Galaxy chipsets in 2025. But the most intriguing thing is that from 2027, Samsung wants to develop its own CPU cores that won’t use ARM. Such processors will be used in flagship smartphones.

The rationale here is obviously to control as much of the product as possible. Interestingly, the company has tried this before with a dedicated team in Austin, Texas. The project was Mongoose, but the cores developed had issues with energy efficiency and heat generation, so the project was closed in 2019.
