Kommersant’s sources report that sales of consumer electronics in Russia have declined in the first 8 weeks of 2023.

It is noted that sales fell by 11-12% in money terms and by 32-40% in money terms. Artur Makhlayuk, business analyst at F+ tech-Marvel Group of Companies, believes that this is due to the departure of the former leaders from the market.

The volume of smartphones sold in January increased by 13%, to 2.3 million devices, and in money terms – by 43%, to 50 billion rubles, the sales volume of Holodilnik.ru. Samsung and Apple earned the most – they are bought by 35% and 18%, respectively. A Citilink spokesperson noted that prices peaked in the second quarter of 2022 due to shortages causing brands to emerge in the smartphone category as well as in headphones and headsets.

At the end of last year, the Chinese company Xiaomi became the new growth in the number of devices sold in Russia, occupying 33% of the market. [Коммерсантъ]
