The Public Council under Rospotrebnadzor is discussing new requirements for the markets. The sites plan to force sellers to check and verify the authenticity of the products.
To do this, they can use the “Honest Mark” marking system. It contains the necessary information on registered sellers and labeled products, Izvestia reported.
Before this, the markets did not control their partners, so they could sell fake or illegal products. According to public figures, the share of illegal products from Ozon varies in the range of 8-13%, on Yandex.Market – 4-7%.
Buyers often complain about online sales, as previously noted in documents from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. As a rule, dissatisfaction refers to the work of large markets: Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex Market.
For example, they violate the procedure for considering claims, it is also difficult for them to return the goods, and in some cases it is difficult to obtain reliable information about the products, etc.
The problem may be solved if regulators can impose new requirements on online sellers. For example, to force marketplaces to disclose information that uniquely identifies sellers.
