During one experiment, 30% of shopping carts at a large grocery store in Melbourne had signs that said “More than 9 out of 10 shoppers buy fruit or vegetables from every store”. The scientists then examined the receipts and interviewed people as they left the store.
It turned out that those who chose the poster carts bought 1.25 kg more fruit and vegetables than those in the control group, and accordingly spent $ 9.10 more on these products.
