The Workspace Updates blog announced that accounts enrolled in the “Quick Release” program will soon be able to try the new Google Drive design on Android tablets. Most notable is the fact that the bottom navigation pane has been ditched in favor of a sidebar and redesigned for Material You.

As part of the changes, the top search bar no longer takes up the entire width of the screen and your help, settings and profile buttons are added to the top right corner. Tabs below the search bar with suggested files and notifications now take up much less space.

For those who haven’t signed up for the Quick Release program, the new design will be available on April 3.
