Moore and Robert Noyce founded Intel, originally called Integrated Electronics, in 1968. Nine years later, in 1979, he became chairman and CEO of the company, holding that position for eight years.
Gordon Moore played a major role in developing the technologies underlying modern computing devices. Meanwhile, in 1965 he made observations and explained the “Moore’s Law” in its modern formulation, which states that the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years.
